BSROA Team Challenge
- August 2004 - Photos from ..., story by ...?
There was a full story in the newsletter,
but here are a couple highlights I pulled out of Gary
Shroeders article on the 2nd annual BSROA Team Challenge.
Another good showing this year, with several new faces
coming in with strong performances. Unfortunately last
years winners were not able to defend their title this
year (could not make the event).
This Years participants were: Paul Kaiser...
.
First off, I wanted to thank the generous
event supporters. We had a ton of prizes donated by
Eric Riston at Atlantic British, not to mention the
crucial route flags. John Robison stepped up a donated
a great dinner for all. Thank you very much.
The Rules are the same as last year.
There were four obstacles comprising the competion.
Each obstacle had a 25 point route, a 15 point route,
a 5 point route and a 0 point bypass. Each driver could
choose any of the routes. Each team had two trucks and
the team with the most points at the end won. You gain
points by driving the routes successfully. You lose
points by having or doing the following:
- locker(s): deduct 5 points
- tires: for every inch above 32 inches, deduct a
point
- hitting a flag: deduct 5 points Plus, and this
was the kicker, each driver had 3 tries and 3 tries
only at each obstacle. If you failed on your third
attempt, you were done, no points for that obstacle
and you had to take the bypass.
So, here are the results:
- WINNERS (123 points): Paul Kaiser and ...
- 2nd place (119 points): ... and ...
- 3rd place (113 points): ... and ...
- 4th place (96 points): ... and ...
The winning team pulled off first place by driving
really consistently, as they should. Paul is a recent
competitor from the '04 Adventure Challenge this year.
They started out with only a minor point deduction at
the start of each obstacle due to...
Excellent job everyone. Thanks again
for all the spectators that come out to support these
great drivers through the competition, not to mention
helping keeping track of everyone :).
Chris Tullmann
send me the details for the event, and
I'll add them in. I didn't get to make it out to the
competition this year.
